Valencia

6 really cool things to do in Valencia

Valencia, Spain’s third-largest city after Madrid and Barcelona, is a lively port city on the sunny Costa Brava. In this post, I’m sharing my favorite fun things to do in Valencia.

Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias

Our first stop on the sightseeing tour was the impressive Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias. As we arrived, we were immediately drawn to the beautiful walkway known as the ‘Terraza Umbracle’ — lined with tall palm trees and futuristic arches. The whole park complex felt massive and super open, and we were surprised to see people stand-up paddling through the water canals. Such a cool vibe — it almost felt like walking through a sci-fi movie set.

Alboraya

I can highly recommend visiting the Port of Alboraya — a charming town just 3 kilometers north of Valencia, located in the Horta Nord region. Alboraya is known for its relaxed coastal vibe and Mediterranean climate, making it a perfect little escape from the city.

Barrio del Carmen

Don’t miss exploring Barrio del Carmen, Valencia’s historic old town full of narrow streets, vibrant street art, and lively cafés.

Mercat Central

A visit to Mercat Central is a must — this bustling market is packed with fresh local produce, colorful stalls and a lively atmosphere that truly captures the spirit of Valencia.
