Mexico – 10 days in Cancún

White sand beaches, crystal clear water, romantic caribbean nights, world-class hotels and restaurants – these are all the words that come into my mind when thinking about Cancún – Mexico.

A trip to Mexico offers you a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a colorful and joyful culture.

In July 2015 I flew from San Francisco International Airport to Cancún/Mexico to meet up with my family from Austria. After a six hours flight I arrived in Mexico and we took a bus to our hotel at Playa del Carmen. Our hotel was really cool cause it was located right next to the beach.

This was my daily walk when walking outside the hotel:

Swimming with Turtles – Akumal Beach

Akumal Beach is a must-visit destination for those who love to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea and admire the beauty of marine life. This stunning beach, located on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, is known for its calm waters, soft white sand, and vibrant coral reefs that attract an abundance of marine species.
One of the highlights of visiting Akumal Beach is the opportunity to swim with sea turtles in their natural habitat. Swimming alongside these magnificent creatures is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Cabo

I can also recommend flying to Cabo. It’s a popular holiday destination, especially among people from California. My host family actually got married there—I’ve only seen the photos, but it looked absolutely stunning. From what I’ve heard, Cancun tends to attract more Europeans, while Cabo is more popular with Americans.

Another really cool travel destination is Hawaii. Check out my post about that tropical destination as well.
