Uluwatu was the final stop of my Bali trip. After the active days in Ubud and Canggu, it felt like a completely different side of Bali. Dramatic cliffs, turquoise water, beautiful beach clubs and some of the best sunset views of my trip made Uluwatu the perfect place to slow down.
I spent my last week in Bali exploring Uluwatu’s cliffside beach clubs, beaches, sunset spots and a few hidden gems. In this guide, I’m sharing the places I personally loved, what surprised me and what I would do differently on my next trip to Uluwatu.

Best Beach Clubs in Uluwatu
Uluwatu is one of my favorite places in Bali for beach clubs with incredible ocean and cliff views. Each one I visited had a completely different atmosphere, from relaxed beach days to sunset parties high above the ocean.
Beach Day at Kempinski 💆♀️
One highlight was my day at Kempinski Bali Day Spa. It’s part of a stunning luxury resort — and honestly, wow. You start at the top, looking down on this incredible tropical estate, and then take an elevator down to the private beach area. There are comfy sunbeds with shade, two large pools you can use for free, and direct beach access — all beautifully maintained and peaceful. Hardly anyone was there, which made it feel like a little hidden retreat. You pay an entry fee and a minimum spend, but it’s 100% worth it for the atmosphere and the view alone.
There’s something magical about being surrounded by water and sky, where time seems to slow down. At Kempinski’s oceanfront escape, I found exactly that. The space isn’t just luxurious — it feels deeply connected to nature. Towering palm trees, shimmering turquoise pools and the soft scent of sea breeze create a dreamlike calm.
Beach Bliss at Sundays Beach Club Uluwatu 🌴
On my last full day, I visited the Sundays Beach Club — and it was honestly one of the coolest experiences of the week. You take a cable car down the cliff to the beach, and the ride alone is worth it: floating over palm trees, ocean sparkling below you. Once you’re down there, you’re met with crystal-clear water, delicious food, a laid-back crowd and a beach atmosphere that feels perfectly designed for unwinding.
The water looked almost unreal — like a giant pool blending into the endless horizon, shifting from turquoise to deep blue with every wave.
One Eighty Beach Club Uluwatu 🧊
I visited One Eighty Beach Club, known for its dramatic glass-bottom infinity pool perched over a sheer cliff. The panoramic view was unreal — ocean as far as the eye could see. With laid-back beats, stylish design, and a calm crowd, it was the ideal start to this last leg of the trip.

Uluwatu Cliffs & Ocean Views
The dramatic cliffs are what made Uluwatu feel so different from the other places I visited in Bali. Many of my favorite spots sit high above the Indian Ocean, with incredible views stretching all the way to the horizon.
Savaya and One Eighty combine those Uluwatu cliff views with a beach club experience, while places like La Terrazza and The Istana are especially beautiful around sunset. If you’re visiting Uluwatu for the scenery, I would definitely plan at least one afternoon around the cliffs and stay until golden hour.

Later that week, I spent an evening at Savaya, one of Asia’s most famous beach clubs. Perched high above Uluwatu’s dramatic cliffs, the location alone is absolutely stunning, with incredible views over the Indian Ocean. A Brazilian DJ was playing that night, and although I hadn’t heard of him before, his set turned out to be one of the highlights of the evening. The atmosphere, music and spectacular clifftop setting made Savaya one of my most memorable nights in Uluwatu.

🌅 BEST SUNSET SPOTS IN ULUWATU
For unforgettable sunsets in Uluwatu, I highly recommend La Terrazza. Get there early to grab one of the front-row seats with a direct ocean view. It’s the perfect spot to watch the sky light up in fiery reds and golds. The food and drinks are excellent, making it a great place to unwind as the day ends. If you’re in the mood for more of a party vibe afterward, just head over to Single Fin next door, one of Bali’s most iconic sunset bars.

🌄 Golden Hour Bliss at The Istana
If you’re looking to relax before flying home check out The Istana. They offer wellness day passes and sunset experiences with access to saunas, cold plunges and incredible cliffside views. A perfect blend of peace and celebration to close out your Bali adventure. They offer time‑slot bookings at specific hours, so you can reserve your preferred sunset or relaxation window in advance.
Hidden Gems in Uluwatu, Bali ✨
Beyond its famous beach clubs and dramatic cliffs, Uluwatu has a quieter side that is worth exploring. If you want to escape the busier spots for a while, these are a few places to add to your list.
Nyang Nyang Beach
Nyang Nyang Beach is a beautiful stretch of white sand surrounded by Uluwatu’s dramatic cliffs. It feels much more peaceful than many of Bali’s popular beaches and is a lovely place to slow down, enjoy the ocean views and spend a few hours away from the crowds.
Suluban Cave Beach
Suluban Beach is one of Uluwatu’s most unique coastal spots. The beach is reached through narrow pathways and impressive rock formations, which makes getting there part of the experience. Once you reach the bottom, you’ll find a small beach tucked between the cliffs and incredible views of the ocean.
Uluwatu Temple
Perched high on the cliffs above the Indian Ocean, Uluwatu Temple is one of the most iconic places in the area. The clifftop setting is especially beautiful around sunset, when the entire coastline is covered in golden light. It’s also a great place to combine a little culture with some of Uluwatu’s best ocean views.
HOW MANY DAYS DO YOU NEED IN ULUWATU?
I spent a full week in Uluwatu, but personally, I would stay a little shorter next time. For me, around 3–4 days would be enough to enjoy the beach clubs, cliff views, sunsets and some time to relax without feeling rushed.
If you’re mainly visiting for a specific beach club like Savaya, you could also visit Uluwatu for the day. But if you want to explore the beaches, enjoy the sunsets and experience the more relaxed side of Bali, I would recommend staying for a few nights.
IS ULUWATU WORTH VISITING?
Uluwatu was absolutely stunning, with dramatic cliffs, beautiful sunsets and incredible beach clubs. The area is much calmer than Canggu or Ubud, which makes it perfect for a more relaxed stay. Personally, I would spend fewer days here next time, but the ocean views, beach clubs and peaceful atmosphere definitely made Uluwatu worth visiting.
